Wardrobe Stories - Jenna Coleman

MY SECRET’S OUTNET

WHAT’S YOUR WARDROBE STORY?

From Doctor Who to Victoria, Jenna Coleman has cemented herself as pure leading lady material. She’s played a serial killer’s lover in The Serpent, a struggling mother in The Cry and is soon to appear as aristocratic adventurer Johanna Constantine in Netflix's upcoming adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s popular comic book series, The Sandman. As well as her acting prowess, she also has the Midas touch when it comes to style. Her red-carpet appearances are characterised by romantic, feminine pieces (Erdem and Simone Rocha are both favourites), juxtaposed with a tomboyish edge. Her day-to-day look is more low-key, but still peppered with contrasts – T-shirts with tailoring, or slouchy denim with a feminine blouse. Coleman chooses clothes that make her feel something, whether that be cocooned and comforted or glamorous and romantic.

“As I’m getting older, less is more,” she says. “It feels so much more rewarding when you find a piece that you’re considered and deliberate about. You want to fill your wardrobe with things that feel like an extension of you, it doesn’t matter the season or how old.”
