Exclusive Mary Katrantzou Collection Interview
THE OUTNET x MARY KATRANTZOU
Introducing a special collaboration with Mary Katrantzou, the queen of digital, for THE OUTNET. Discover the exclusive capsule collection and don’t miss our interview with Mary herself…

For many of us, technology is an integral part of our workplace and this is no exception for Mary Katrantzou. In conversation with us, she explains how her, and her creative team, design using ‘a mix of digital craftsmanship and analogue references.’ Merging traditional techniques, such as lace making, and developing those even further with the help of digital equipment. The collection for THE OUTNET is captured in a film studio to reflect the concept of ‘realism meets surrealism,’ an idea that the label enjoys experimenting with.
Through the use of cutting-edge technology, the brand is able to create prints in-house and manipulate real patterns into abstract forms. The Creative Director shared with us that ‘the focus of this collection was to take something that’s never been seen, change its premise, its color and play with scale.’ The result of this digital manipulation is an abstract animal print, one that originated from an elaborate floral.

"The focus of this collection was take something that's never been seen, turn it on its head, change its premise, its color, its scale."
