We met with the makeup artist who counts Jennifer Anniston, Julianne Moore and Gwyneth Paltrow as some of her clients, in her Upper West Side apartment to discuss how she reached the top of so many fields of beauty. The special-effects turned editorial artist went from ashram and makeup-free childhood to crafting iconic fashion imagery and collaborating with some of the industry’s biggest tastemakers. Now, she’s on to launching her much sought-after clean beauty brand Westman Atelier, a label that embodies her sustainable approach to life and truly represents her.
When it comes to curating her closet, Gucci takes an approach we can all appreciate. “I like to feel comfortable but also feel cute. You should always have fun with it and feel like there’s a sense of joy when you’re getting ready.” And this time of year, transitional, pared-back pieces are the name of the game.
