There are a lot of stylish people here in Oslo and the city has actually developed a lot. You can see actually the same qualities in the designs that are made both in architecture and fashion.
My name is Janka Polliani, I am a Norwegian TV presenter, influencer and podcaster and I am going to show you my Oslo!
I don’t think the Scandinavian minimalism has influenced my style at all. The difference between the Danish and the Norwegian is, we are more bold. This is the new Scandi style.
VIGELAND SCULPTURE PARK – Nobels gate 32 (0268 Oslo, Norway)
Vigeland Sculpture Park is my favorite place in Oslo. It’s a big sculpture park made by Gustav Vigeland. It is simply breathtaking to see all the sculptures. It’s not that crowded and it’s surrounded by all these beautiful sculptures of naked people, and everyone loves to watch that.
In fashion everything works so fast, everything is so quick and for me going to the park is more zen. In the park there is a sculpture of a little baby called Angry Boy, he’s very, very angry and I think all mums can relate to one of those faces!
When you walk through the park there’s sculptures everywhere on the sides, but then you come up to the top and there is the monolith, it is beautiful.
THE OPERA HOUSE – Flagstads Plass 1, 0150 Oslo, Norway
The Opera House is a bit wow, it has that wow effect. It kind of looks like an iceberg that has tipped. It’s a wonderful place to bring arts, culture and music together. Everything is built in marble, so if you walk up towards the top you have the most amazing view.
EKEBERGS RESTAURANT – 15, 0193 Oslo, Norway
A lot of people that comes to Ekebergrestauranten comes there to have a great meal because they serve the best food up there, but it also serves the best view in Oslo. Inside its clean and white, it’s the minimalism but in the Scandinavian way. Ekebergrestauranten actually has all the things we Norwegians love, you feel like you’re in the city because you have the view of everything. I love the places where everything feels welcome.
Even though I travel so much, Oslo is my city and my favorite city. It’s an energetic city, so many things happen here, especially when it comes to fashion. It feels good to be in Oslo, it feels good to be home.
